The Fall

I share this testimony with many others, that when we want to talk to God, we pray. But when we want Him to talk to us, we study the scriptures.

“Adam fell that me might be…” (2Nephi 2:25) can be defined as Adam partook of the forbidden fruit so that he could follow the Lord’s commandment to multiply and replenish the earth.  Because of the fall, man must die. (Genesis 3:19)  Because “…in our bodies we shall see God.” (2Nephi 9:4), the fall caused the need for resurrection and the atonement.  I know that Jesus is the Christ, that he died for us, atoned for our sins and was resurrected.  I testify that the Spirit has confirmed to me the truth of this, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How the Gospel of Jesus Christ Has Impacted My Life

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has greatly impacted my life.  One of the most meaningful facets to me is that families can be together forever.  Families can be sealed for time and all eternity; husband to wife and children to parents all of the way back to Adam and Eve.  Even though my grandparents and mother have passed, I am comforted to know that I will be reunited with them.  My wife, lover and best friend, will be mine and I will be hers forever.  Even though adopted, our three sweet spirited children will be tied to us as a family unit transcending time.  I know these things are true as the Holy Ghost has borne witness to me as such.

The Faith I have in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is equally important to me.  I have developed a closeness to my Father in Heaven that brings me such peace and faith that all will be well.  As I pour out my heart in prayer and supplication, I know that my prayers are heard.  As I read the scriptures, I hear what the Lord has to say.  As I strive to keep the commandments of God, I have the Holy Ghost as my constant companion.  I testify that I know that my Redeemer lives and that he was crucified for our sins.  I know that because of the Atonement, everyone who has lived will be resurrected and that we all can be forgiven for our sins.  In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
